PATERNITY DETERMINATION/ESTABLISHMENT
Assists clients in establishing paternity of their children. DCSE locator service also assists custodial parent or guardian find alleged absent parent. Assists in the establishment and/or determination of paternity primarily through blood testing of the alleged father(s). Clients receiving public assistance are required to submit a name of the father/mother to DCSE services. If alleged father or mother does not voluntarily submit to blood test, DCSE proceeds with court determination on behalf of child and the custodial parent or guardian.
